About Me

My name is Laura Haddick-Oxley and I am an art therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I began providing art therapy in schools as a trainee in 2016, and loved the opportunity to support the children to feel safe and to explore difficult feelings and experiences. This, in turn, led to an increased ability to engage with peers and access learning in school.

Since completing my training in 2017, I have continued to work with children, adolescents, and families in schools across the north west. I also work with adults. I am based in Warrington and have worked in schools in Cheshire, Merseyside, and Greater Manchester. This has included adoption support work, sessions for parents, and dyadic work with children and their grown ups. This work has taken place both online and in-person.

I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), having worked as a senior lecturer at the University of Chester from 2020-2025. I am now a visiting lecturer on the MA Art Therapy course. If you are looking for a visiting lecturer or someone to provide training for your organisation and you think I can help, do get in touch.
